| Volunteering at
the Museum |
|
Docents Program
Museum docents enable the Museum to provide guided, interpretive,
historically accurate tours that help educate and entertain
visitors. Our docents are an important part of this Museum.
DOCENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a general knowledge of
museum displays and operations.
- Become familiar with assigned
collection for the purpose of educating museum visitors.
- Insure the security and
safekeeping of collections, buildings and grounds.
- Attend training sessions.
- Assist the museum in recruiting
other volunteers to serve as docents or perform other museum
tasks.
- Sign in a log time volunteered.
- Contribute a minimum of 4 hours
each month.
- Assist with museum admissions fees
and registration of visitors.
- Uphold highest standards of ethics
regarding museum collections to assure good stewardship of
contributed artifacts and collections.
- Assist with special projects,
activities, and events as may be requested by the museum board
and/or staff members.
